 Brookfield Zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals, from aardvarks to zebras and everything in between. Kids and their families can explore nature, interact with small animals–even dress up like them–in the Hamill Family Play Zoo, and then venture on to see giant creatures like giraffes, brown bears, elephants, and the majestic African lion.
The zoo features a full schedule of activities and attractions, including The Carousel featuring 72 handcrafted exotic animals, engaging special events, daily Dolphin Shows, Zoo Chats, playgrounds, water features, and more. Plus, don’t miss the Sharks! at Stingray Bay touch experience from May 3 to September 1!
Present your Go Chicago Card during the Brookfield Zoo’s annual Holiday Magic for a free ride on The Carousel. The evening festival takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, December 6–7, 13–14, 20–21, and 26–31, from 4:00 pm–9:00 pm.
Note: Enter the zoo and go to Guest Relations window. The Go Chicago Card is accepted daily until 5:00 pm. Brookfield Zoo is owned by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County and managed by the Chicago Zoological Society.

Take Metra: Exit at the Zoo Stop (Hollywood Station) on the Burlington Northern line and walk four blocks northeast.
By bus: PACE bus routes 304 or route 331.
By car: Brookfield Zoo is located at First Ave. between Ogden Ave. and 31st St. in Brookfield, 14 miles west of Chicago. Take I-290 or I-55 to the First Ave. exits. Follow the signs to the zoo’s main entrance.
