Carnival of Cities
This week we’re hosting the Carnival of Cities on the Go Chicago Card Blog. If you aren’t familiar with the idea of a blog carnival, then this will be a great opportunity to discover some new travel blogs and see what’s happening in other cities around the world (no plane ticket required). We’ll start with some posts about US destinations and then move further afield…
Mary Jo at The Seattle Traveler blogged about her winter getaway in Astoria, Oregon.
The Salem Insider wrote about the coffee connection, where to go for a cup of joe, offering coffee recommendations in Salem, Massachusetts.
Jon at The DC Traveler discussed up the women’s suffrage movement in the US and suggested a visit to the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum in Washington, DC.
Speaking of museums, Jamie at the Explorer Pass Blog wrote about the New York Transit Museum.
And now, for some blog posts from around the world…
Andrew at The Cyprus Informer submitted a post about Villas in Cyprus describing the various options for a Mediterranean getaway. Sounds like we could all use a little sun this time of year!
Alfa King wrote about scrutiny towards the media and labor unions in Mauritius.
Art Thailand described the Road to Chiang Rai from Bangkok, Thailand.
Carol at Can’t Holder Tongue chronicled her recent trip to Lisbon, Portugal and compares Lisbon’s cleanliness and eco-consciousness to that of the United States.
Alex’s post about Christmas Lights Tour 2007 on Live in Brisbane offered a taste of the holidays down under in Brisbane, Australia.
Location Independent shared 5 tips for budget travel in London. Great ideas!
Less Than a Shoestring offered some tips on surviving the train strikes in Paris and Germany.
Sheila at the Perceptive Travel Blog wrote about Christmas in a Cave: Valkenberg the Netherlands.
Kristie at An American in Oslo Norway wrote about 25 things not to miss in Lithuania.
Tomas Dinges at Chile From Within posted about the attack of the new bus system in Santiago, Chile.
